The Warrior V1 senior composite goalie stick is the recreational level stick in Warrior’s new V1 line. Offering the most cost effective package, the V1 SR offers some of the same great features from its bigger brothers, but at a much more reasonable price for those goalies that are looking for that.

Shaft Construction
Just like the V1 Pro+, V1 Pro and V1 SR+, the shaft of the V1 SR senior sticks include VibexLite to limit the vibrations of the stick and create better feel when contacted with a puck. As well the shaft has an Impact Fiber Layer to help with durability on direct shots as well. The shaft, along with the rest of the stick is made with HiFused construction to be sure of a more balanced stick.

Paddle Construction
The paddle of the V1 SR uses the same twin spar construction found in the other sticks in this line as well. The TwinSpar construction stiffens the stick up and provides exceptional pop for shooting. The VibexLite also continues to this part of the stick and maintains a much more deadened feel. The Minimus 600 provides a good weight to value equation, especially when compared to similarly priced wood foam core sticks.

Blade Construction/Stiffness
The blade of the V1 SR composite goalie stick is made with the same Minimus 600 construction that the rest of the stick is. The minimus 600 is a solid material that provides solid stiffness without breaking the bank.

Graphics
The V1 SR has very similar colourways to the bigger sticks in the line as well. With a silver base, the V1 SR also offers White/Black, White/Red, White/Blue and finally a Black/Silver colourway.

Grip
The grip on the V1 SR stick is tacky on the brightly coloured section at the top of the paddle shoulder. The rest of the shaft is a matte paint that helps with poke check speed.

Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths
The V1 SR senior goalie stick is available in 25”, 26”, and 27.5”. The stick is also available in three curves, Quick (mid), Mrazek (wedge) and Bishop (twist.)

Awesome Stick

I am a 6’6 goalie and love this stick! Best I ever owned! Perfect weight, not too light, not too heavy. Light sticks aren’t for me, I need a little weight to help keep my stick on the ice.

Excellent quality stick

Awesome sticks. Current one is going almost 3 years and still going strong, being used 3-5 times a week. Bought 2 more as they were on sale. Should be good for a few more years haha. Havent had the chance to use the new ones yet but id expect the same durability and quality.

Warrior Ritual V1SR

First off the stick is light compared to my Warrior foam core . There is a different feel when the puck contacts the blade and paddle. It's a more brittle feel compared to a solid feel . I feel there is more vibration on puck contact compared to a foam core stick . The price was right for me . Can't justify paying $300 on a stick that's going to be used in pick up and occasional beer league game.

Great stick!

I ordered 2 of these sticks, knowing they were a familiar pattern to what I was using. These are definitely of better quality than the ones I bought at a big “Canadian” box store.

Goalie Stick Sizing Information

Unlike other pieces of gear, Goalie Sticks are sized mostly to the goaltender’s preference and playing style rather than their height. The most important measurement, when purchasing a new goal stick, is the paddle height (the wide portion of the stick), which is usually taken from the heel of the stick to the shaft/paddle interface. The reason for the paddle height’s significance is because it sets up the goaltender’s depth in the ready stance and (if properly sized) positions the blocker in an optimal position.

Sizing Your Goalie Stick
To start analyzing the size of your goalie stick, put on your goalie skates to get an accurate height of where you will be in your stance. If you’re looking to be even more accurate, strap on your goalie pads and blocker as well. Once that is done, get comfortable in your natural stance (the one you’d be in during a majority of gameplay) and look for the following:
1. The entire blade of the stick is flush with the ground while being 1’ - 2’ in front of your feet
2. After getting your stick into the flush position, check that the inside edge of the blocker hand sits on the outside edge of the goal pad (this is while holding just above the paddle).

Goalie Stick Sizing Considerations
Goalie Stick sizing can be very subjective compared to other pieces of equipment. The reason for this is the ambiguity of each goaltenders ‘natural stance’, especially with younger goaltenders. It is rather common for children to use taller sticks in comparison to their height, as their stance depth isn’t usually as aggressive as a seasoned goalie.

The shaft length of a goalie stick is usually best left at its stock length, as it serves to counteract the weight of the blade and ideally place the center of gravity at the top of the paddle. The one exception to this rule is for advanced puck handlers, cutting the shaft will allow more power transfer when shooting as a result of being able to keep the blade flush to the ice while near the goaltender’s feet.
