The CCM Jetspeed FT2 skate is the top Jetspeed model from CCM for 2019/20. Featuring cutting edge-tech and best in class specs, the FT2 is a beautiful elite level skate that performs at the highest level.
CCM’s quick-change steel system is finally here. The new SpeedBlade Xchange holder and SpeedBlade XS1 Black steel represents a significant upgrade on the previous holder/steel set up.
Fit is everything when it comes to hockey skates. The fit and comfort out of the box has been improved with a slightly wider fit than the Jetspeed FT1.
A focus on improved durability is apparent with a beefier boot construction, abrasion resistant features on the tendon, comfort edge, liner, and toe box area.
Boot Construction
LiteFrame 360 Evo one-piece boot construction featuring RocketFrame composite allows the FT2 to be super light with just the right stiffness level. CCM was able to add an extra 2mm of steel to the blade as well as other durability features throughout the boot without adding weight when comparing it to last year’s Jetspeed FT1.
CCM’s one-piece boot construction is a remarkable technology that fits and skates great, allowing a closer connection the holder.
Tongue
The Metatomic tongue is the perfect balance between a traditional felt and new lightweight tech. An asymmetric flex point allows the boot wraps nicely around your foot but is thick enough to provide comfort and prevent lace-bite.
Liner
CCM’s TotalDri Pro + high performance liner is comfortable and dries out quickly between ice times. The FT2 also has Durazone abrasion protection applied to the top three eyelets and extends around the tendon for added durability where the tongue can create the most friction with the liner.
One-Piece Tendon
An injected one-piece tendon guard makes its first appearance on the Jetspeed FT2. This injected plastic tendon that extends into the top two eyelets of the skate should help increase durability by preventing tears in the tendon while also reinforcing the eyelets.
Comfort Pad
Smooth Contour Pro comfort pad is an injected rubber padding located at the top collar of the boot and is the most comfortable comfort pad yet from CCM. When cutting hard on tight radius turns, this padding acts as a cushion to help prevent the boot from biting into your foot.
Holder
SpeedBlade XS is a quick-release holder with bladelock system that makes steel changes super easy. The lock dial mechanism tightly secures the steel to the holder, which ultimately should translate into better energy transfer when skating.
Steel
SpeedBlade XS1 is a premium stainless steel that has an oxide treatment to provide a harder outside edge to the steel in order to hold an edge longer and prevent “slip-outs”. XS1 steel is 2mm taller than standard the XS model to provide tighter turns and longer sharpening life.
Insoles
CCM’s Orthomove footbed is included with every pair of Jetspeed FT2’s. This insole allows you to customize the arch support to your foot’s fit profile. These adjustable inserts allow maximum customization in an insole – remove the insert if you have a low arch, add the 4mm insert for a medium arch, and add the 7mm insert if you have a high arch.
The FT2 also comes with a pair of CCM’s standard insole.
Heat Moldable
The FT2 features asymmetrical multi-density memory foams that heat mold easily and will provide customized fit and comfort.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide
- Things to consider:
- Age
- Measurement from longest point of foot (cm)
When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.
As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.
It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.
An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.
To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).
Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.
***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
