Intro & New Features
CCM has unveiled the Extreme Flex E6.5 Goalie Leg Pads for the 2023 season. They are equipped with many technologies such as the Dynamic Response System, Dualite Technology, and Speed Skin. They also feature a 90° boot angle to make it easier to make contact with the ice and push off for cross-crease movements. These pads come in a variety of colors and 3 different leg pad sizes.
External Material
The external material offers superior slide by reducing friction between the pads and the ice. Sliding capabilities are powered through the DRS (Dynamic Response System) which includes a one-piece landing zone that is built for excellent seal and stability to move with power and speed, with enhanced impact absorption.
Internal Construction
Made from Dualitecore technology, the core is designed to be a lightweight, flexible feel and is built to move and react with each and every save.
Pad Break
The pre-curved single inner, single outer break is designed to provide a flexible feel while providing great butterfly closure.
Boot Angle & Toe Taper
The E6.5 leg pads feature a 90° boot angle with a shallow channel and a bungee toe system. Its designed to have an enhanced range of motion and connectivity for post seals and power pushes.
Knee Cradle
The open knee cradle with removable knee cradle wrap allows for optimal interaction and rotational performance with the knee pads.
Strapping
The deep tight fit with the quick motion strap system 2 is designed to keep the pads in place once they are attached. It provides goaltenders with reactionary feel for quick and easy pad rotation and recovery.
Color & Sizes
The Source Exclusive CCM Extreme Flex E6.5 Senior Goalie Leg Pads come in colors: Black, Chicago, and White/Black/Silver. They are available in pad sizes 32+1 to 34+1.

Called the store to see if they were in stock and they were very helpful. The pads were shipped out the next day and got to Toronto very quickly. Love the source exclusive. All and all wicked pads and great service!
It’s beautiful
These are my first set of “new”pads, after going through 3 sets of different second-hand pads. I’m trying to find the right tightness and fit, as they sit very differently from my CCM 4.5’s. Sizing is different as the boot angle on these makes them like 1-2 inches taller than what I’m used to. (34 vs 32”). I land right in the middle of the stack, so seems to be the right size…
Strapping- takes getting used to, the inner calf strap is difficult to adjust and strap yourself into.
I like the single break and the rebounds go much farther, but having trouble closing my butterfly- probably due to the +1”- should be at least 1.5.
Sliding- decent, but for new pads I thought these would have a better sliding profile, but to be fair, I’ve used them twice and one ice rink had terrible conditions.
They are light and look great, so I’m hoping things will get better with more breaking in. The price was excellent, especially for a beer-leaguer who plates 1-3 times per week.
The pads never lasted half a session they were all cracked up and ripped on the bottoms. Never go with these pads.

Goalie Leg Pads Sizing
Deciding your Goalie Pads size is crucial for having total control while moving in the crease. Sizing your pads properly is the difference between getting that perfect seal on your butterfly, and feeling clunky or unprotected in the net. Below we have compiled some information to better assist you in deciding which size is right for you.
Floor-To-Knee Measurement
Your Floor-To-Knee measurement will give you a good indication as to what "Pad Size" you will need. This measurement can be matched up with the provided sizing chart above.
How to Measure your Floor-To-Knee
- 1. In your bare feet, place the soft measuring tape at the inside of the bottom of your foot.
2. Slightly bend your knee.
3. Run the soft measuring tape up your shin, to the middle of your knee.
4. Match your Floor-To-Knee measurement with the provided sizing chart
What to look for when trying on your new pads.
Once you have your new leg pads, you’ll need to make sure they fit you properly. To do so, you’ll need to put the pads on with your skates. There a couple things to do to check size, once you have the pads on:
1. Stand straight and bring your feet together. This will show you the overall height of the pad, while on. Your pads should not be taller than your hips. Ideally you want the top of your pad at the half-way point of your thighs. A pad fitted for a young growing goaltender can be a little taller, so a little above the half-way point is normal.
2. Next you want to get in your stance, keep your hands in a ready position, and drop to your butterfly. Without moving your legs to correct your butterfly, bring your heels together. This is where you assess your knee position. For a proper fit, you want the middle of your knee to sit directly on the center of the knee stack. If you’re looking for growing room, you want the middle of your knee to land roughly 1.5” below the center of the knee stack (1” for JR).
Not getting a complete seal while in your butterfly?
If you're having trouble getting a full seal in your new pads, it may be the way you’re strapping them up. Make sure your boot strap and top straps (above knee) are loosened up a bit. The reason you want these straps loose is because they have a direct effect on the rotation of the pad. Having a loose boot strap makes it easy for your foot and ankle to rotate as the pad moves. Same goes for the top straps, as you don't want them pulling down too hard on the thigh rise.
