The brand-new CCM Axis XF Senior Goalie Catcher is the top of the line glove for the 2024 season. With many key features like a HD Flexmotion protection for your backhand, game-ready fit palm, double T pocket and being available in different colors, this catcher has all the pieces for a top-end glove.
Break Angle
This catcher features a 591° break angle. Based off the reliable 590° angle and shape, but it is redesigned for enhanced closure, feel and responsiveness.
Closure
The updated break design, palm stiffness, T integration and backhand for the best off the shelf opening and closure. Together, all these features included in the XF catcher create the top of the line model for the 2024 season.
Cuff/Thumb
The cuff and thumb area is constructed of Litecore material. It is a durable and light material that keeps the glove light on your hand, while also providing comfort and support. The lightweight injection-molded one-piece cuff design allows for mobility and easy movements that don't restrict you from making the next save.
Palm Stiffness
The palm comes with the game-ready fit with D3O protection. This new game-ready feel allows for easy closure with high impact protection, letting goaltenders break-in their gloves easy and faster.
Finger Protection
The form fit pinky and index finger fit system allow goaltenders to feel comfortable and confident when they put this glove on. The heat-activated foam is designed for a customized feel and optimal responsivesness with the adjustable fit system.
Pocket Design
The pocket design features the double straight T, which is optimal for puck absorption and tracking.
Backhand Protection
To protect the back of your hand, we see the HD Flexmotion system. It is a new segmented design for easier opening and closing that also comes with high impact protection.
Palm & Internal Liner
The palm is constructed of a suregrip palm. The comfort fit has added texture and tackiness for a great feel and added control.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
