The Bauer Supreme UltraSonic Goalie Catcher is the newest rendition of Bauer’s tried and true Supreme goalie glove. With many great features from the previous generation, the Ultrasonic adds some new technologies to improve upon an already great catcher. The most notable improvement is the CatchLite palm.
External Material
Bauer uses the C.O.R.Tech ST material to skin the Ultrasonic glove. The technology in the material works by quickly returning itself to its original shape and position after a blow. On the trapper, it will promote a faster and longer rebound when deflecting off the glove. For those shots that aren’t caught, the puck will rebound further away.
Break Angle
The break angle on the new Supreme trapper is similar to the previous model, in a 75 degree break. The break is geared toward the fingertip-thumb closure angle, resulting in a wide open feel when the catch surface is open.
Pocket Design
The pocket features the double “T” introduced in the 2S Pro trapper. The benefits of the double “T” include a wider pocket opening and improved puck tracking when looking through the pocket when freezing the puck.
The CatchLite palm is the new key feature to the Supreme line on the UltraSonic. CatchLite is an upgraded Jenpro-like material used throughout the trapper to thicken the material to improve durability, but also promote an easy closure off the shelf.
Strapping
The strapping of the Supreme Ultrasonic is taken from the previous generation, including a nylon wrist straps, velcro backhand & finger straps. The straps on the trapper allow for a relatively customizable fit to keep the trapper comfortably in place without the worry of it being jarred loose.
Cuff Design
The Bauer Ultrasonic goalie catcher is a one piece made with Bauer’s CURV Composite to reinforce the cuff. Taking inspiration from the 2S Pro, the Ultrasonic is a very familiar shape and design. The backcover of the cuff also has full coverage protection. Poron XRD has also been added to key areas of the trapper’s cuff to improve protection and reduce the pain of stingers.
Colors & Customization
The Bauer Supreme Ultrasonic SR trapper is available in all White, White/Black, White/Navy, White/Blue, and White/Red. The UltraSonic Goalie Glove is available in Regular hand (worn on your left hand) in all colourways, and Full Right (worn on your right hand) in All White.
The UltraSonic will be available on Bauer’s customizer to design your own unique colourways, as well as Bauer’s True Design custom graphic, where you can design a fully customized Bauer Goalie Catcher.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
