For the performance level goalie, Bauer has introduced the Supreme 3S Senior Leg Pads. With improvements from previous generations, the 3S pad features similarities to the top-end UltraSonic pads, at a lower price. Some of the new features on the 3S include the Square Knee Block plus C.O.R.Tech ST landing, 151-degree core, and the Tune Fit Strapping system.

External Material
One of the returning materials to the Bauer Supreme line is the C.O.R.Tech ST external material used to make up the skin of the pad. The acronym standing for Coefficient of Restitution is a technology designed with the rebound in mind. C.O.R.Tech allows the leg pad to quickly return to its original shape after deflecting a puck off the face of the pad. This essentially means the 3S leg pad will give off a longer rebound. Compared to the traditional Jenpro material, C.O.R.Tech is a lighter material and provides an exceptional slide along the ice. The “Super Tough” material is 3 times more durable than the previous material used on Bauer Supreme pads.

Internal Construction
The Bauer 3S pad introduces a new 151 Degree Core. Continuing with the traditional Supreme stiff and rigid pad, the 3S leg pad features the stiffer core of their two lines, Supreme and Vapor. The 151 degree angle between the thigh rise and the shin makes for a solid wide butterfly.

Pad Break
The Supreme pads continue to feature a single break below the knee, maintaining a stiffer leg pad. The stiffer pad and stiffer boot angle combine with the C.O.R.Tech provides a longer rebound off the pad and more time to react to the next shot.

Boot Angle & Toe Taper
Bauer’s Connect Flex 125 degree boot angle is featured on the Supreme 3S leg pad. Paired with the stiffer core of the pad, the slightly softer boot flex allows for mobility in the crease. Toe Taper comes in at 90 degrees to give maximum coverage and allows for a flush post seal.

Knee Cradle
The Supreme 3S features a square knee block plus C.O.R.Tech ST landing. The knee cradle builds on previous generations, but has included the improvements of the C.O.R.Tech ST in the landing for increased durability and slide.

Knee & Thigh Protection
Unlike previous generations of Bauer Supreme Leg Pads, the Supreme 3S does not feature a knee or thigh pad.

Strapping
The strapping on the Bauer 3S leg pad is the Tune Fit strapping. Tune Fit is a quick and easy setup, using 3 velcro straps on the back of the pad. The main areas of the straps wrap around are the upper calf or knee, on the calf, and one outer velcro strap.

The new Supreme line will feature Bauer’s new bungee cord toe strapping system. The stretchy toe tie system will allow the leg pad the flexibility to move freely with a quick rebound back into its original position. The toe cords are offset on the pad off the shelf, but have additional positions to be centred if preferred.

Sizes & Colors
Bauer is continuing with their pad sizing, offering XS, S, M, L, and XL pad sizing. The pad sizes remain the same as the previous generation, XS is equivalent to 32", Small 33", Medium 34", Large 35", and XL 36".

The stock colours of the Bauer Supreme 3S goalie pads are White, White/Black, White/Blue, White/Navy, and White/Red.

Excellent shopping experience

As somewhat of a skeptic of buying hockey gear online, I am beyond impressed with this store. Prices were great, the ground shipping is free charge and arrived right on time. I have already been raving to other hockey parents about this store and will shop here again in the future.

Goalie Leg Pads Sizing

Deciding your Goalie Pads size is crucial for having total control while moving in the crease. Sizing your pads properly is the difference between getting that perfect seal on your butterfly, and feeling clunky or unprotected in the net. Below we have compiled some information to better assist you in deciding which size is right for you.

Floor-To-Knee Measurement
Your Floor-To-Knee measurement will give you a good indication as to what "Pad Size" you will need. This measurement can be matched up with the provided sizing chart above.

How to Measure your Floor-To-Knee

    1. In your bare feet, place the soft measuring tape at the inside of the bottom of your foot.
    2. Slightly bend your knee.
    3. Run the soft measuring tape up your shin, to the middle of your knee.
    4. Match your Floor-To-Knee measurement with the provided sizing chart

What to look for when trying on your new pads.
Once you have your new leg pads, you’ll need to make sure they fit you properly. To do so, you’ll need to put the pads on with your skates. There a couple things to do to check size, once you have the pads on:
1. Stand straight and bring your feet together. This will show you the overall height of the pad, while on. Your pads should not be taller than your hips. Ideally you want the top of your pad at the half-way point of your thighs. A pad fitted for a young growing goaltender can be a little taller, so a little above the half-way point is normal.
2. Next you want to get in your stance, keep your hands in a ready position, and drop to your butterfly. Without moving your legs to correct your butterfly, bring your heels together. This is where you assess your knee position. For a proper fit, you want the middle of your knee to sit directly on the center of the knee stack. If you’re looking for growing room, you want the middle of your knee to land roughly 1.5” below the center of the knee stack (1” for JR).

Not getting a complete seal while in your butterfly?
If you're having trouble getting a full seal in your new pads, it may be the way you’re strapping them up. Make sure your boot strap and top straps (above knee) are loosened up a bit. The reason you want these straps loose is because they have a direct effect on the rotation of the pad. Having a loose boot strap makes it easy for your foot and ankle to rotate as the pad moves. Same goes for the top straps, as you don't want them pulling down too hard on the thigh rise.
