The Bauer IMS 5.0 helmets offers an excellent fit with an entry-level price point. The 5.0 offers everything you need in a helmet without all the price increasing bells and whistles. The dual density foam and VN liner protect your head from both high and low impacts keeping you safe while playing. A two piece fit offers adjustability in length for all shapes and sizes and a dual ridge crown in the shell add a sleek look. The IMS 5.0 also features tool-less adjustments that enable you to adjust and lock the length with just the flip of a few clips. Additionally, the ear guards are integrated into the shell of the helmet so you never have to worry about having them fall out when you adjust your cage.
To make it a combo, Bauer features the 2100 Facemasks along with the 5.0 helmet. These cages are a highly protective shield that fits all Bauer helmets and most other models. It provides excellent sightlines through its straight wire design and optimized vision profile. The chin cup offers a comfortable single density foam with moisture channels for better drainage. The 2100 cage comes with HECC, CSA and CE certifications.

Bauer IMS Hockey Helmet Fit
The IMS helmet line fits wider in the temple area and tightens at the back of head with an adjustment to keep a tight fit at the occipital lobe. These helmets best fit players whose heads widen at the back or sides and are looking for something to offer additional volume.
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
