Don’t compromise... CCM Ribcor 40K Stick Reviewed
Overview:
The CCM Ribcor 40K takes over where the Reebok Ribcor left off. This is a sexy looking twig. With improvements in technology from the original; the RIBCOR 40k’s simple black finish and lime green accents are easily seen on almost every shift in the NHL.
The CCM Ribcor 40K is shaping up to be one of the most exciting sticks that has launched this year. Joining RBZ and Tacks, this now gives the CCM brand its third family of sticks.
So, what sets the 40K apart from the other sticks on the rack?
Technora Shaft:
A durable stick that retains its “pop”? You have our full attention.
Technora Aramid is a fiber that is very similar to Kevlar but it has superior bending properties.
CCM expects the Ribcor 40K to take the performance and durability ratio to another level. The Reebok Ribcor was already considered by our staff to be one of the most durable sticks on the market. If CCM has rolled out an even more durable shaft with Technora’s long lasting performance characteristics, we’ll be very impressed.
This doesn’t mean that the Ribcor 40K is unbreakable. But since you’ve probably been in a position where you’re left holding two halves of the same stick, durability is a huge feature to consider.
SXX Blade:
The stiffness profile in the SXX Blade varies from heel to toe in order to improve shooting accuracy and puck control.
Final Thoughts
Several of our staff have had the chance to use this stick and feel it’s one of the better, if not the best, performing “low kick” sticks available on the rack. The puck comes off the blade really nice. Overall puck control is good. Passes feel crisp. It’s light and well balanced. Receiving the puck on passes is forgiving. Overall, we couldn’t come up with anything negative to say about this stick. Looks like the CCM Ribcor 40K is going to be a winner.
