Brian's G-Netik Pro 2 Trapper & Blocker
Brian's G-Netik Pro 2 Trapper
With the G-Netik Pro 2, Brian’s set out to improve upon an already great trapper without taking away from what made it successful in the first place. With Brian’s the priority for their gloves has always been off the shelf feel, and you’ll find with the G-Netik Pro 2 that this is still the case.
Something that attributes to this is the trapper’s new concave palm that reduces interference that some users had experienced with the previous model.
Perhaps the biggest change that gets overlooked at first glance is a brand new injection molded one-piece cuff. This replaces the original G-Netik’s two-piece design, creating a more reliable blocking surface that is sure to have great durability.
Something familiar is the trapper’s ultra-wide double-T for optimal puck retention. Deep T's have been a constant design theme for Brian's through the years and the G-Netik 2 delivers big time.
The internal palm and wrist pad feature Brian's "No Slip Grip" material so when your hand gets sweaty it becomes grippier to provide stability. This is huge.
The X-Static anti-bacterial material lining the finger gussets is a nice feature and should help to keep the stink factor down.
Brian’s floating wrist and new flared cuff provide great mobility while high density foam finger plate protects the backhand from slashes while covering the puck.
Similar to the rest of Brian’s product line, the G-Netik Pro 2 also utilizes the durable Primo Synthetic liner in high wear areas to extend the gloves lifetime.
Brian's G-Netik Pro 2 Blocker
While most goalies will just match their blocker choice to whatever catch glove they decide upon, the G-Netik Pro 2 gives some compelling reasons to rethink the age old statement that "a blocker is just a blocker".
Brian's unique combination of E Foam and high density foam used for the G-Netik Pro 2's blocker board will ensure retain long term performance and durability.
The hand position on the board has been lowered to that of the SubZero Pro II to further accommodate the paddle down save selection to aid the goaltender seal the bottom of the ice when the play is in tight.
Brian's accordion style high-density foam finger protection with additional forefinger protection makes it best in class. And we can brag a bit because The Hockey Shop's own, Jarid Warren, can take some of the credit for contributing to this design!
"No Slip Grip" material in the palm will help with stick control when playing the puck, while X-Static anti-bacterial material lines the finger gussets to aid with odour control.
The sidewall has also been reinforced in two ways: first, using 1/2" high-density foam board to withstand direct impact from shots taken while in the butterfly position and secondly with Primo synthetic around the perimeter to increase durability on heavy wear areas.
The last major improvement is the addition of a removable sidewall cushion to further increase the protection offered from the G-Netik Pro 2’s already beefy sidewall.
