True Project X Hockey Stick

Engineered to Dominate

The Project X stick is a limited edition release from True. It joins an exclusive club of limited edition high-end sticks with new tech that gives it unreal feel and balance. Coming in at only 355 grams for a 60” length stick, the Project X kicks off the 2021 launch season with a bang.

Not too long ago, our staff noticed that some sticks within our pro stock stick orders featured some new specs. These mystery sticks were super light and well balanced and we chalked it up to True continuing to advance their tech and spec under the disguise of last year's graphics. It turns out these sticks were indeed early versions of the final Project X stick. Five NHL players used a blacked out graphic in the bubbles in Edmonton and Toronto.

Their pro roster includes many more NHLers using team coloured graphics now that the season is underway. It looks like True has done some significant testing before bringing the Project X to our shelves.

Project X is a true low-kick flex-point stick and the testing our staff has done on-ice and in our demo shooting room got rave reviews for its quick release, overall pop and puck feel. We can’t wait to get the Project X on-ice in games to really put it to the test.

New Technology

True is using the lightest carbon fiber in the shaft and blade that they’ve ever made a stick with. Because the material is 23% lighter than materials used in a typical high-end stick, it allows for more laminates. The final result is a ridiculously light-weight stick.

PLD – Precision Laminate Design

True Project PLD logo

PLD is the optimization of fiber angles to provide both stiffness and impact strength with each layer of material. In more technical terms – there are fewer 0 degree plies used and more off-axis plies (15-45 degrees) to achieve stiffness while adding impact strength. In plain English – PLD allows weight reduction without a loss in impact strength.

BRT+ Technology

With a low kick-point stick, it's critical that the blade is strong and durable so that there isn't any loss of energy or torque through shot transfer. BRT+ Technology earned it's stripes on the AX9 stick and is a proven performance component.

Axenic Technology

True’s Axenic Technology returns. This seamless compression-molded shaft construction process gives an incredible feel for the puck which you notice instantly when stick-handling.

Final Thoughts

Project X shows the evolution of True as a legitimate player in the elite stick supplier. They continue to bring new technologies and most importantly performance. The graphics look great too – the full chrome and blue chrome on the black base give it an insanely rich look. If you’re a True fan, or just looking for an excuse to spoil yourself to kick off the 2021 season when it’s time to get back on the ice, come by the shop and test out the Project X stick in our shooting room to see for yourself.
